Supervision
I’m a Board-Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia and would be delighted to support your professional development.
With over 25 years of experience in clinical supervision and consultation, I work with a diverse range of professionals including psychologists, CBT therapists, counsellors, psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers. I offer both individual and small group supervision, with extensive experience delivering sessions online.
Areas of Focus
Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT)
As a CBT therapist for the past 30 years, I bring extensive experience in training and supervision across various settings. I’ve taught on clinical psychology training programs, postgraduate CBT courses, and delivered in-house training for health services.
My supervision approach is practical and developmental, incorporating audio/video recordings, role-play, and experiential exercises to help you build confidence and competence. I’m well-versed in using standardized rating scales, such as the Cognitive Therapy Rating Scale – Revised and the Cognitive Therapy for Psychosis Adherence Scale, to support your skill development.
I work with clinicians at all career stages, helping you practice ethically and effectively while meeting requirements for placements, academic work, and therapy assessments. My supervisory reports have been successfully approved for BABCP accreditation and re-accreditation.
Family Interventions
With a long-standing interest in serious mental illness, I have substantial experience supervising therapists who deliver family interventions for carers and people recovering from psychosis. I’m familiar with various models including behavioural family therapy, CBT-informed family intervention, and multi-family and carers support groups.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Contextual CBTs
I’m passionate about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and have extensive experience training and supervising therapists in contextual behaviour therapies. I’ll work with you to develop skills in functional analysis and help you support clients and families in living according to their values.
My supervision often includes encouraging your own mindfulness and values-based practice to enhance both your professional effectiveness and personal resilience. I’ve also developed a research-based measure of ACT adherence that informs the supervision process.
If you’re interested in supervision, I’d be happy to discuss how we might work together to support your professional goals.
